The event I chose for my poem is the invasion of M19 in the courthouse. The poem is told from 

the perspective of the courthouse. I chose this perspective because the building was the principal 

“victim” of the attack. The principal objective from the M19 was to get revenge of the government. 

There is a theory that tells that Pablo Escobar also paid them for destroying all the documents that 

said that he was a drug trafficker. This is an important event in Colombian history because it is one of 

the most violent attempts to the government. I chose to write my poem in terza rima.

I could feel the blood through my hallway, the people desperate

 

"The Revenge Of The M19"

The 6th and 7th of November in 1985

I could feel the people dying and running

because the guerrilla started using fire.

All inside me started falling,

called the army to start fighting.

It was gross and sad to see all that blood 

but I am just a building; I cannot do anything about it, instead 

I just started to park to God.

The army came quickly to help

but sadly, the majority of people 

were dead.

Years later a killer confessed that Pablo Escobar

was behind the destruction, and he was the one who

 started that horrible war.
