The topic of my Poem is El Florero de Llorente. The perspective of my poem is in third 

person because I wanted to tell the event from my point of view. This event is very important for 

Colombian history because breaking El Florero de Llorente caused Colombia’s independence. I chose 

to write my poem in a quatrain. 

"EL Florero De Llorente"

On July 20th of 1810 Colombia experienced and amazing act:

The Colombians had a plan, but they knew it would end in attack-

A broken vase changed Colombian’s lives

They took a risk and tried.

Jose de Rubio went to borrow the vase,

But Llorente, the owner had no interest.

The plan was going right

But as the Colombians knew it ended in a fight.

The People were fighting for their independence

and the Spanish had a great skill of defense, 

But this small step that looked the size of a bee

Was the one who set Colombians free.
