Poem

Isabela Carvajal

My topic of this poem is the new prosthetics made for kids who had lost, by any circumstance, a leg or an arm. This poem is told by the perspective of a prosthetic because I feel it gives the poem something that makes it special and unique. Making new prosthetics with new designs for kids is very important because this makes kids have a less negative psychological impact. This helps kids not feel sad or different for not having an extremity of their body. This topic is important to the world history because it can change the way that people and kids see the prosthetics. This poem is written in free verse, it is not following any particular pattern.

I am a prosthetic

I come in three different designs for now: Elsa, Iron man

and Star Wars.

I was designed to inspire, to make kids happy and

to give a smile.

I can be as small as a pencil, or I can be as big as

a tree trunk.

I am as good as a leg, as an arm

and much more.

I am awesome in

every way.

I am a big, heart and I am

terrific as well.

I allow the kids to catch, play and explore new things

that they couldn't do before.

I love my host and the things

I make.

I am a

prosthetic.
