The event I chose for my poem was the Peace Treaty in La Habana, it is told from the perspective of the Colombian people. This event is really important for Colombian history because 50 years of war will finally end. I wrote in terza rima and at the end I used 2 rhyming couplets.

                                                             

“Finally, Peace”

 

Today it will end

Just like in the old times

With this the problem will end.

 

With all the crimes

They have done we forgive

Putting together all the rhymes.

 

And we want to really live

Like the free fish.

All the bullets disappear

 

As if we were a side dish,

But we forgive and they continue

And they are really selfish.

 

Ans Santos is our hero

A Superman precisely

He could have taught us jujitsu,

 

But taught us peace nicely.

And now there’s peace

Uribe did acts unwisely.

 

Santos made big steps

And we sleep well

 

Without  passing out receipts,

He taught us to do peace.
