The poem’s topic is the peace treatment in Colombia. The poem is told by a victim of Colombia’s 

violence. This event is really important in Colombia’s history because this country has been at war with 

the “guerrilla”, “paramilitaries”, and criminal bands for a long time now, so the actual president “Juan 

Manuel Santos” is doing a really long process so the peace can come true. I chose to write it in a quatrain. 

 

"It is a Journey so the Violence Can End" 

“The peace is coming”, people say.

But you don't know what to expect. 

It is a journey of violence to get away.

Violence never left, making us remember the anger we regret.

In this cruel country nobody can speak for themselves 

The war in Colombia is not like World War One, 

We're innocent people are prisoners from the cruel world they want to escape, just like shelves.

If everyone comes together, peace can easily be done, like shooting a gun.
